Program Enhancements

We offer an array of innovative benefits solutions that will help your company stay competitive in attracting and retaining top industry talent.

International Benefits

Insuring your international workforce is not an easy task. Companies are often frustrated with the lack of flexibility in plan design options as well as the complexities of global administration and claims procedures. At O’Neill Group, we specialize in providing benefits solutions for international operations. We have long-standing relationships with the leading global insurance providers, allowing us to deliver a comprehensive line of expatriate insurance products that will ensure your employees working overseas are properly protected and supported.

Executive Benefits

While traditional employee group benefits provide a solid foundation for a personal risk management plan, these benefits often contain limits on coverage that may be inadequate for high income earners. Our unique Executive Benefits Programs are designed to provide personalized and portable benefits for the executive team; enhanced contract definitions and coverage terms; and improved premium stability with long-term cost controls for the company.

With an Integrated Benefits Solutions (IBS), we replace a portion of the group Long Term Disability (LTD) coverage with individual disability insurance policies. These disability plans are offered on a Guaranteed Standard Issue (GSI) basis with no medical underwriting. This program provides both enhanced disability benefits for the employees as well as improved premium stability for the income protection program.

Cost Plus

Cost Plus is a tax-effective means of supplementing your organization's Extended Health and Dental programs.  It provides reimbursement for eligible expenses that may be limited or not covered under your existing group plan. With the Cost Plus program, the full amount of eligible claims and administration fees are considered a tax-deductible business expense.  The reimbursement to the employee is not considered to be taxable income.  Thus, Cost Plus is more tax-efficient than a salary increase as a means to pay for additional medical or dental expenses.

Health Spending Accounts

Sometimes referred to as a flexible benefit account, Health Spending Accounts (HSA) allow an employer to allocate a pre-set amount of money for each employee to use for medical expenses not covered by the traditional group benefits program.  Employees and their dependents have access to this account for reimbursement of any medical or dental expense that qualifies under the Canadian Income Tax Act, including deductibles, co-pays, drugs, eyeglasses, laser surgery, and smoking cessation programs.

Employee Assistance Programs

An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides employees and their eligible dependents with a multitude of counseling services and resources to help relieve stress from work, family, health, legal or financial related issues.  By providing professional counselling and support, an EAP can significantly reduce disability rates and absenteeism, directly impacting the bottom line for the organization.
